Network Upgrade: Amsterdam Now Directly Connected to Teraswitch

AMS01 is now directly connected to Teraswitch. This network upgrade improves performance and consistency for everyone running in our Amsterdam region, and it brings Amsterdam in line with the premium routing already in place at Frankfurt.

What "direct connection" actually means

Without a direct connection, traffic between your server and a destination network can take a winding path through multiple intermediate carriers. Every extra hop adds latency and, worse, adds variability - the jitter that makes latency unpredictable. A direct connection to a network like Teraswitch removes those intermediaries for traffic destined to or transiting their network, producing shorter and more consistent paths.

Why consistency matters more than peak speed

For on-chain workloads, a stable 5ms is often more valuable than a 3ms that occasionally spikes to 30ms. Trading and RPC strategies are built around predictable timing; jitter is the enemy. Direct peering is one of the most effective ways to reduce that variability.

Part of a larger network push

This upgrade is one of several rolling out across our locations. We later brought the same direct-Teraswitch treatment to our new New York (EWR) site, where it delivers roughly 0.1ms to the New York Jito Block Engine. To understand how to take advantage of these improvements, read our guide on reducing latency to the Jito Block Engine.
