Dedicated Server in the USA: New York or Salt Lake City?

When to choose New York

Choose the New York location for your users or data sources based in the Eastern part of the USA or for your transactions against the infrastructure located in New York. The NY/NJ metro area contains numerous exchanges, banks and transatlantic connections, so a New York dedicated server is usually the shortest way to reach both the east coast of the USA and Western Europe.

It is also an evident choice when you need to trade against infrastructure located in New York. According to the measurements made on October 19, 2026, the round-trip latency of the connection between New York and nearby Jito transaction sender infrastructure was 0.10ms at the minimum and 0.11ms at the maximum.

When to choose Salt Lake City

Choose the Salt Lake City location for users distributed across the central and western parts of the USA or if you want to have another location in the USA apart from the East Coast as a redundancy measure. Utah is often used for disaster recovery, as it is far from the coastal climate threats and busy routes of the East Coast.

Our Salt Lake City dedicated servers are located in DataBank SLC2 (Granite Point) in Bluffdale, designed according to the 2N power architecture, that is, there are two fully independent power pathways, so the failure of one of them will not lead to the failure of your servers. Round-trip latency to Jito infrastructure measured on October 19, 2026, was 0.08ms at the minimum and 0.11ms at the maximum. What people run from these locations

Sites based in the US are suitable for bots that trade at US-based or US-exclusive venues. For example, among public exchange APIs measured by CCXT in July 2026, Coinbase responded fastest from New York and London; therefore, a Coinbase bot belongs on the East Coast. Similarly, the Robinhood Crypto Trading API is available exclusively to Robinhood Crypto users in the United States, so a Robinhood bot runs on a US server by default; starting from May 2026, AI agents can trade stocks with Robinhood through its own connectors. Kalshi, a prediction market regulated in the US, is one more popular reason for running an always-on server in the United States.

There are two exceptions to be aware of before making your choice. The primary API of Binance blocks US IP addresses, so Binance bots cannot be run on US servers. In the mentioned measurements of CCXT, most Asian exchanges, and Hyperliquid, responded fastest from Tokyo, so a US server is not the right place for a low-latency bot on these exchanges.

Bandwidth: the only difference from Europe

In both US locations, the listed configuration provides you with a 10Gbps port and 350TB of monthly transfer. It is enough transfer for most workloads, but it is a cap. It is not the unlimited monthly transfer included in our Frankfurt and Amsterdam servers. Thus, if you expect to host video streaming services or to transfer very large datasets, you should calculate your monthly transfer first.
